]Key features and capabilities
What the Real-Time ZipRecruiter Data API supports out of the box.
- Search ZipRecruiter job postings by keyword and location, with filters for radius, date posted, employment type, experience level, annual salary range, remote-only and ZipApply-only - all applied by ZipRecruiter server-side.
- Scope every result to a single company with company_id, sending a location alongside it, which is what makes the filter reliable.
- Retrieve full details for up to 20 job ids in a single request - description in text and HTML, key responsibilities, employer FAQ, benefits, company size, headquarters and industries.
- Get the pay distribution for a job title nationally or in one US state or Canadian province - the real median plus the 10th, 25th, 75th and 90th percentiles, per year, month, week and hour.
- Read the salary a posting actually states, and tell it apart from a ZipRecruiter estimate, on every job.
- Trim any response to the fields you need with a fields projection, and page through up to 20 consecutive pages per request with repeated listings removed.

What data can I get from the Real-Time ZipRecruiter Data API?
It returns ZipRecruiter job postings with the job title, employer name and logo, location down to county and postal code, posting and update dates, the full description in text and HTML, employment types, benefits, an employer-stated or ZipRecruiter-estimated salary, third-party employer ratings, and ZipRecruiter listing details such as company size, headquarters, industries and ZipApply availability. It also returns the pay distribution for a job title.
How do I search for jobs on ZipRecruiter?
Use the /search endpoint with the query parameter, plus optional filters such as location, radius, date_posted, employment_types, experience_level, remote_jobs_only, salary_min, salary_max and zipapply_only. Each page returns 20 jobs and num_pages fetches up to 20 consecutive pages in one call, with listings ZipRecruiter repeats across pages removed.
Can I get all the open jobs at a specific company?
Yes. Pass company_id on /search using the ziprecruiter_company_id returned on any previous job. Send location alongside it - ZipRecruiter applies the company filter far more reliably when a location is present, and much less reliably without one. An unknown company id returns a 404 rather than unrelated jobs.
How do I get the full details of a job I already found?
Pass its job_id from a search response to the /job-details endpoint, which accepts up to 20 comma-separated ids in a single request. It returns the full description in both text and HTML, key responsibilities, the employer FAQ, benefits, company size, headquarters and industries, and the ZipRecruiter apply type. You can also set include_details=true on /search to fetch details inline.
What salary data does the API return?
The /estimated-salary endpoint returns the pay distribution for a job title: the real median plus the 10th, 25th, 75th and 90th percentiles, expressed per year, month, week and hour, along with a salary histogram, per-state figures, top paying cities and related titles.
Can I get salary estimates for a specific city?
No. Salary figures are published by ZipRecruiter at state level only, so /estimated-salary accepts a US state or Canadian province spelled out in full, or no location at all for the national figure. City names and two-letter codes are rejected with a 400 rather than silently answered with a state or national number.
Which countries does the API cover?
The United States and Canada. Those are the only two markets ZipRecruiter operates, so country accepts us and ca; any other value returns a 400 instead of an empty result set that looks like a working search.
Can I get a custom plan with higher limits or a hard cap?
Yes. Contact us at support@openwebninja.com with your expected monthly volume and any requirements (hard request caps to prevent overage charges from automated retries, higher RPS). Custom plans can combine custom request limits, rate limits, and per-request pricing tailored to your usage.
How do I subscribe and start calling the API?
Click "Try for Free" at the top of this page to sign up on the OpenWeb Ninja developer portal and subscribe to a plan. Calls are authenticated with your key in the x-api-key header, and the free tier needs no credit card.
